If In Drought Use Lime

November 1st, 2009

During the drought a few years ago, many of my residential gardeners had problems with their home crops.  Tomatoes especially took a hit.  The plant calcium levels fell badly and the blooms began to rot.  For anyone that came into the store, I would recommend agricultural lime to their plants.  This would allow the plants to retain their moisture instead of drying and dying.  I can’t tell you the number of customers who came back to tell me how well this had worked for them and to thank me for my help.  It made me feel good that I had researched the problem and was able to help them.
